In a remarkable showing from its supporters, the Santa Monica Education Foundation raised a record $400,000 for student programs. The Foundation supports the arts, libraries, teachers’ aides and athletic programs across the district and relies entirely on donations from the community to do the important work that neither the state nor the city can fund.

Parents and local businesses came together at the Miramar Hotel for the first time since the pandemic hit. The Ed Foundation team was understandably concerned about whether it was too soon, and whether the current economic uncertainty would undermine the event’s success. They needn’t have worried.

People were excited to get together with friends and finally enjoy a wine-tasting event again. As supporters sampled delicacies from top local restaurants, an ensemble from Santa Monica High School played classical music. (The district boasts one of the top music programs in the nation, thanks in part to the Foundation.)

Then, over dinner, attendees watched students perform songs and dances from their schools’ musical productions. And the crowd generously opened their hearts — and their wallets — in support of excellence in education.

FreeAssociates again created all marketing and event materials for this beautiful annual event.

Cheers!
